Doctor Who: The Series Five Trailer - some thoughts about Trust

Well, what can we say. Amy's accent is lovely to hear (has that twang of deprogrammed Inversneck about it). We're guessing that swirly vortex is a hint at the new look opening titles - especially as the colour matches the new DW logo (see Thumbcasts passim ad nauseum). Moffat talked of Matt finding inspiration in Troughton, and there's definitely something very second Doctor-esque about him.

Nice symbolism that the last monster we see - which we presume is the Silurian Neve McIntosh blew the gaffe on - comes up from under the ground, too.

The other thing though, is Trust. That's twice we've heard some variation on the Trust Me, I'm A Doctor gag - both in the Xmas preview and here in the teaser above. Is there something significant in that, or is it just a convenient hookline for this season? I wonder...

But yes, very lovely, and although we get a sting of the old Murray Gold music at the end, looking forward to hearing if there's a new theme arrangement. BTW - anyone in Glasgow or the area, there's a documentary about Delia Derbyshire playing at the GFT as part of the Glasgow Film Festival next week. Thumbcast will be there, of course.
