The Thumbcast is finishing? No. No way. Uh-uh. This is NOT happening.

Why the hell are you stopping it now you bastards? For fuck’s sake! Of all the petty, small-minded, arse-upwards things you could do, I mean, what would I have to do to make you reconsider? Surely there’s some sort of arrangement we could come to that’s mutually beneficial to all concerned?

Fine. Go ahead. Leave me. Everyone always does, in the end. I guess I’m just a fundamentally unloveable audience member…

I guess it will be OK, in the end. I’ll get through this, somehow. Life will go on, so long Craig and Iain, and thanks for all the fish.

Loving your work as usual lads. Can’t believe that Scotlands Greatest Album thing. As an exiled Scot (in Norn Iron) I hadn’t heard about this, and having looked at the final playlist, I wish it had stayed that way. SNOW PATROL are fecking Norn Irish. Candy isn’t even Naolo Putini’s best song. TWO Proclaimers tunes? Where’s Biffy Clyro or Idlewild? And say what you like about Wet Wet Wet, they sold shitloads of albums and surely deserve a place.

But lay off Pat Nevin – he’s a lovely fella.

Superman Returns came out in the middle of Smallville, but notably that show wasn’t allowed to tread on the feet of Warners’ movie division – so no Bruce Wayne, no Clark in costume, etc.

The biggest threat to Doctor Who from all this is the BBC, either willingly or with the government twisting its arm, deciding to ‘maximise value’ from the property by licensing it out to a movie studio for big money, halting the TV series and waiving creative control.

It’s certainly hard to imagine a major studio paying for this without having that control – and if the BBC isn’t stupid/pressured into giving away the keys to Doctor Who then chances are that will scuttle any deal, in the same way similar issues did for the Halo movie.
