About the show

The Thumbcast is Scotland’s most petty and foul-mouthed pop culture podcast, taking a bi-monthly spin through the latest cult and genre film, TV, comic, book and game releases.

Unapologetically Glaswegian, it’s hosted by author and pundit Craig McGill and former SFX web editor Iain Hepburn from a secret bunker somewhere under the Red Road flats, from where they draw their plans against us.

Someone once asked us where the name comes from – presuming it was to do with operating games controllers and remote controls with thumbs.  If only we were that cool and clever…

No, the show takes its name from our worshiping of Transformers star and ‘actress’ Megan Fox, and her frankly fucking odd looking thumbs…

There’s certain things we love on the show – Michael Ironside, sweeties, Doctor Who – and certain things we hate – Twilight, swords and sandals, certain Glasgow Rangers fans – but by and large we try to approach everything with an open mind.
